California sagebrush: Native to western California, Baja, Mexico, and various regions of southern California. California sagebrush is one of the most medicinally used plants by California native peoples such as the Kumeyaay from the San Diego region, the Cahuilla people of Coachella Valley and Tongva people of the Los Angeles Basin and Southern Channel Islands.
White sage: Native to southwestern California and northwestern Mexico, white sage is found growing in the coastal sage scrub communities found on the western edges of the Mojave and Sonoran deserts of Southern and Baja, California. It is also known as sacred sage as it is used by various Native American tribes in traditional sacred rituals and for medicinal purposes.
